Haere whakamua E tipu e rea - Go foward; Grow and flourish
Meet our Principal
I have the privilege of leading a wonderful team of staff and children in a school that is very special to me.  I grew up in Matamata and attended Firth as a five year old. Along with my five siblings, I attended my primary years here.  Although Firth and education has changed a lot during the years, Firth remains a fabulous place to be with a modern learning environment for the children of today.  We are a U4 State Contributing School for students from year 0-6.  Most of our children come from the local school neighbourhood, with other children travelling by bus from outlying rural areas.
We currently enjoy teaching and learning with 200 wonderful children. We celebrate our biculturalism with te reo Maori , te ao and kapahaka.  The school operates an 'open door' policy and we strongly believe in a close working relationship with our parents, whanau and community. We offer many learning opportunities in the areas of academics, sporting, cultural and social.
Our school mission of 'Haere whakamua E tipu e rea - Go forward; grow and flourish' is added to by our strong emphasis on our Firth family values. Here at Firth we like to show our 'can do, will do, positive attitude!' If you are considering making Firth your school of choice, I am sure your family's association with our school will be both rewarding and enjoyable.  We look forward to working along side you and providing your learners with the best we can offer, so your child can be the best they can be.

Kind regards,

James Eldridge
