Hi my name is Lynsey Collinson, I am part of the Ako Kererū team.

I am originally from England where I completed my Bachelor of Art in Primary Education. I taught for a couple of years in England before I decided it was my time to travel the world and see where I ended up. During my traveling adventures, I spent 2 years teaching in Singapore in an International Kindergarten, which was heaps of fun! Fast forward and here I am, in beautiful Matamata with my little girl, who is my absolute world.


For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work with children, but I never knew in what capacity. It was actually my Grandma who decided that teaching was my fortay, and I am extremely happy that I listened to her.

The absolute best moment for me as a teacher is the "ahhhhh I get it now!" or "I never used to be able to do this, but now I can". These are the special moments that absolutely fill my heart. Everyone is good at something.
